Sun Target II, along with works by Mark Di Suvero, Kenneth Snelson, Michael Hall and several others, was first shown in Grant Park in Chicago, IL as part of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Sculpture in the Park exhibition. It seems the piece had an affinity for large urban parks and it’s next venue was Riverside Park in New York.  After New York the large scale work headed to down town Atlanta to be part of an exhibition curated by art dealer and gallerist Max Hutchinson.

The piece was found a permanent home at the Springfield Art Museum in Springfield, Missouri  through the auspices of the Missouri Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.  The Museum also owns a pedestal size bronze work entitled “La Jolla”.
